So Cute

SO, I'm working at Starbucks (I work from home or wherever I have a computer & Internet for my job) because our Internet is down, and two tables over there's a lady who has a huge sticker(?) of Snow White on her laptop. It looks like Snow White is holding a bird in her hand (or was originally), but she placed the sticker in such a way that is looks like Snow White is holding the Mac Apple in her hands. So cute. I'd take a picture, but that would be majorly awkward. God gave you imagination, use it!

Only a little weird

I'm only a little weird, I promise. Let me just state that now. So my mom & I went to the South Coast Mall today, and the parking was weird and they were setting something up in the parking lot, at which point I remembered: Selena Gomez is giving a concert here today! I knew that because my News Feed on Facebook said that someone became a fan of Selena Gomez and I randomly clicked onto her page and lo and behold one of the most recent posts mentioned that she would be giving a concert there. Anyways, so we went around the mall for a while then came out and watched the concert which I actually really enjoyed. I totally plan to go download a song or two..(SHHH! 23 year olds shouldn't like Disney artists let alone the Disney Channel which has a target age range of 6-14, but I do. But let's keep that on the DL). But we didn't have tickets or whatever so we watched from across the street in front of the Nordstrom. This is about what we could see:

I don't think that she was in this picture, although you really wouldn't be able to tell anyways though. We could see her, not clearly, but we could. Anyways. That was part of what we did today =D

Anyways, I forgot to tell you about the Cheez-It promotion. My sister told me about it first, then I picked one of these boxes up at the store.

The box was only like $1 so you should go get one before they're gone (if you like Cheez-Its, that is). They're letting the eaters decide which flavor they want next: Romano, Colby or Asiago. So in the box there are three mini bags, one in each flavor (as you can see), and then you can vote on Facebook. I think I liked Colby best, but I voted for Romano because I think that Colby tastes too much like regular Cheez-Its, so I think they should try something different. And Romano was a close second. For me that is. After I voted I saw the stats, and it's in third place, waaaaaaaaaaaaay behind the other two (Colby was winning) so apparently I'm one of the very few people who liked it. In the box, there was an ad thing that says that there's a Baby Swiss Cheez-It. Has anyone seen/tried it?

Nothing to report. Just bored.

It's true. So you really don't need to read this unless you're super bored or hold out hope that something super interesting might come out of this (you never know). Well, at least I'll have pictures!

So, I renewed my membership with D23! I really like it because they release a quarterly magazine that has all sorts of interesting things in it like info about upcoming movies/shows, interviews with people and just all sorts of cool things. Here are my membership cards (the top one is from last year, the bottom one is the new one. Personally, I like last year's design better because it looks so cute & classic)

Hmm...what else...on Sunday, we went to the Mimosa Cafe in San Clemente. It was really good! They have several different types of mimosas. I had an apple one, which was good, but I think that next time I'll just get a classic one. For brunch, I had the croissant french toast which was REALLY good. I liked how it was so much lighter than traditional french toast which is pretty heavy and maybe too filling. This one reminded me more of the croissant planchada (or was it croissant a la plancha? Wow. Amazing how much I can forget in only a year & a half or so. Well, Pastor Rick often says that we forget 90% of what we hear within 72 hours) in Spain which were DELICIOUS and I ate them all the time. But anyways, this was really good.

Believe it or not, I don't always learn my lessons. Today, I went to the Ralphs Fresh Fare and once again I was too lazy to go to Starbucks so I went to Peet's, which is normally fine. I sort of somewhat like Peet's sometimes, just not nearly as much as Starbucks. So I ordered a iced small nonfat decaf caramel latte. I really don't know what I got. The barista who announced it said something about foam and I think the cashier had said something about half-caf and it came to me hot. I really don't know where it all went wrong, and I pretty much never have this kind of issue at Starbucks. Maybe at Starbucks I'll mean to order a peppermint white mocha and end up with a regular peppermint mocha, but that's usually the extent of the mistake. And I really don't think that there's caramel in it, but I'm not sure so maybe there is. Who knows. It's not bad though. Just not exactly what I wanted.

Right now I'm watching this past Sunday's episode of Undercover Boss. In this episode, the COO of the MGM Grand hotels is undercover, and it's like wow. For two reasons: 1) the people in the casinos are extraordinarily impatient & outspoken about mistakes (compared to customers in other scenarios) 2) he is especially at a loss in these jobs. Granted, I think that most people couldn't easily go from perhaps not playing card games at all to being a dealer in a multi-million dollar casino. But still.

Ok, I'll stop boring you. I'll try to think of something interesting to write next time. I promise...to try.

Yumm

New discovery: The Salted Toffee Mocha at Seattle's Best. If you're not in Seattle, your nearby Seattle's Best (if you have one) is probably in your nearest Borders. I was in Borders today, and I decided to try the Salted Toffee Mocha (and I don't feel bad about going there because Starbucks owns it anyways =D). I couldn't get it iced because of however it's made, so I got it blended. It is SSSSOOOOO good. Doesn't it look good?

I also like their napkin. Very cute =D

On a Starbucks note, I tried the new Cocoa Cappuccino. It's good, but it's essentially a mocha with foam, so....yeah.

I love the decorations. SO cute. And perfectly timed near St. Patrick's Day =D

My mind has been blown. Again.

Over the past few years, I have had my mind blown only a few times. #1- when I found out that Australia is about the size (or was it bigger?) than the U.S. #2- when I found out that killer whales are dolphins and dolphins are whales.

The one I just learned is that Japan is waaaaaaaaay bigger than I thought! According to the CIA World Factbook (my favorite place to go for miscellaneous country info),  Japan is "slightly smaller than California." Wow. In my mind, it was maybe the size of New Jersey! No wonder my friend, who's in the opposite side of Japan (she's in the South and the quake was in the North or something like that) didn't feel the quake or have any issues. It is, after all, a long way from here to Napa (where I was this weekend, which is why I chose that city).

But yeah, who knew? My geography is apparently super bad.

They get me every time

Seriously. I am one of those people that commercials really work on. Most especially if I want whatever it is anyways. The most recent thing: Cars 2. I try not to get super excited about a movie until it's going to come out in the somewhat near future. Well, I guess that's not *completely* true. I'm planning a whole trip around the release of Harry Potter 7 pt 2. But normally I try not to because then you have to wait months...and months...and it's annoying. But I'm so falling for it with Cars 2. I'm super excited, and it doesn't come out until...hold on, let me check imdb.com...June 24th! That's what I get for following so many Disney & Disney-Pixar people on Twitter. So, it is my solemn duty to get you excited about it too. That there is brand loyalty =D

First, watch the most recent trailer (and the older ones too, but I just watched this one today, so you should watch it too:

Then look at these really cool posters that I found at uncool.com. The link that I used before doesn't work, and I have theories: 1) the pictures were not supposed to be released yet (in which case I probably shouldn't post them? But only like 2 people read this, and I screen-shot the pictures so they'll be harder to find anyways) or 2) the shortened link that they use on twitter has issues. **I totally found them on this website too, so if they were leaked, they're leaked so here they are:

SO...midnight showing anyone?!?! Hmmm. I wonder if they even have a midnight show...if they do, I'm SO there. Join me! =D

In other notes:

**I have officially given up negativity for Lent. Hold me accountable. I tend to be somewhat pessimistic. You may not know this because I pretty much always come off more positive and optimistic than I really am, but I'm changing that. I really don't think that God really cares if I eat cookies or not, but He does care about my heart. SO I'm beginning positive life change this Lent.

**I made a whole Mardi Gras themed dinner last night. I meant to take pictures, but I forgot. I made a vegetarian gumbo (my mom is vegan), king's cake, and Mardi Gras madness punch. It all turned out to be really good! Downside: I was in the Kitchen from like 4pm until a little after 7pm. SO glad I don't have to cook today!!!

**I am also excited for the Starbucks Tribute days (begins tomorrow!). Free Petite with the purchase of any handcrafted beverage. They have a whole new line-up and they look delicious! =D Be there or be square. I'm super tempted to go several times so that I can try all of the deserts. I could get an espresso con panna (which I just made & enjoyed with my Nespresso machine) at 2pm, then my latte later (at a different Starbucks. No need for everyone to know I'm a wee bit psycho about these things)....hmm...deliciousness. Although I guess that technically it would make more sense price-wise to just buy one along with my free one...yummm

**I now officially have a job! I am now an intern at a marketing company. I'm actually super excited. It seems like a great company and the people are all really nice.

The Social Hotspot

I don't know how it is at your gym, but at mine it's social hour. At least for the regulars. There's this group of guys who put their (stationary) bikes together and just talk the whole time. Yesterday, there was a guy who just sat on the bike (read: not using the bike, just sitting there) near his friend (I'm guessing) and talking. And there's always people who see someone they know and just stand by the other person's machine talking to them for a long time (read: a long time. Seriously, I've seen people stand there talking to someone trying to exercise for like 20 minutes). I am SO glad I don't know anyone who goes to the gym when I go. It also helps if you always have your earbuds on. People won't bother you then either I think, as the talkers generally don't exercise with an iPod or anything, so they probably talk to entertain themselves while exercising or whatever. Pay attention next time you're at the gym. See if your gym hosts social hour or not.

She's Got the Look

Recently, I have been thinking about body image and things like that. I've been losing weight on a diet of sorts since October-ish. Last month, I tried on my interview suits and they were too big, so I went to the Limited to get a smaller size. I now fit into a size 2 there (the skirts & jackets that I had before, which I purchased in June or July, were a size 8). Interestingly, I still don't feel skinny. Skinnier and smaller, but not actually truly skinny, despite the fact that when I was a size 8 I thought that I would feel skinny at a size 2. Now I say to myself, I'll be skinny when I'm a size two in Store X. But will it ever end? I'm beginning to think not. Yesterday I was watching What Not to Wear on TLC, and in both of the episodes that I saw, the women really truly sincerely did not think that they were pretty (let alone beautiful) AT ALL, which I found really sad. I think for once, loooooong after Middle School, I understand this whole body image thing. I mean, I understood it in one sense before, but I went to a school without bullying really. I was overweight in Middle School, but I was never teased or bugged about it at all, so I never developed any sort of complex about it. I think about weight issues much more now than I ever remember doing then for some unknown reason. Does any woman who's not maybe a wee bit arrogant feel truly skinny? I have my doubts.

On a similar but somewhat unrelated note, what is with the women who walk around the gym locker room completely naked? That's so weird. Great that you're so comfortable with yourself, but really. The rest of us don't want to see all of that.
