This year (or maybe before. I'm not sure because I just started reading the Disney Parks blog (the link to it is on my blog roll, if you're interested) recently, so it could very well be that they've been doing interesting things like this for a long time without me knowing about it), there are Disneyland "Family Fun" weekends. They had a Chinese New Year one two weekends ago, and last weekend, this weekend, and next weekend they have a MardiGras themed one. I went yesterday and it was really cute. They decorated the French Quarter area (which is always there for those of you who haven't been to Disneyland, and is sort of between Pirates of the Caribbean & the Haunted Mansion for those of you who never go) with beads and other MardiGras-style decorations:
They added a few new New Orleans-inspired foods like this super yummy Bananas Foster crepe (at Cafe Orleans, if you're interested):
And a short show with Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis the Alligator + dancers:
I made a video of the short clips of the show that I took with my camera, and as Google Blogger will not, for whatever reason, let me upload videos, I put the video on youTube:
I started this blog after having had so much fun writing a blog during my year abroad. It was fun writing about the random things I found interesting and the miscellaneous things that run through my head. So, I created a new blog for just that purpose. This is me being a part of the Age of Technology. =)
