Well, it's not a mystery

I just thought about something yesterday. You know how a lot of organizations need donations and maybe aren't getting as much as they can and stuff? Well, I think I've figured out one reason: Once they've got your information, they won't stop bugging you! And some people (i.e. me) find it SUPER annoying and knowing that might happen keeps them from donating later on. Some organizations are worse about this than others, though. From one organization, I really only get emails around the time of their major fundraiser. From another, I get emails somewhat frequently, but it's not too bad. But one...wow. I donated some money to the ASPCA as a part of a birthday present for my friend who's really involved in animal rights and shelters and things like that. I've gotten some sort of snail mail almost every week (maybe every other week) from them or PETA or some similar organization and it's getting SUPER annoying. Like, really. If I could rewind time, I would just get her a gift card to somewhere like the Body Shop that's environmentally responsible. Isn't that a terrible attitude? But they drove me to it! Sooo, yeah. Not a mystery why getting donations can be an issue. One time donations might just translate to a lot of pestering.
